Continuous Transformation in a Digital World

Continuous Transformation in a Digital World

Even before the pandemic, it was clear that the future of work has changed because where we work has changed. A mutual location is no longer required to connect with others. Coffee shops, living rooms, and home offices are now functional and productive workplaces. With access to a video conferencing platform and a laptop, an independent contractor can be totally successful. “America is well on its way to establishing a gig economy, and estimates show as much as a third of the working population is already in some gig capacity.” Whether it’s transitioning to a new career or a side hustle for additional income, a growing number of people are participating in the gig economy as new technologies simplify collaboration in the workforce and make working anywhere, anytime possible on a global scale.

“At Nu Skin, our business model is all about connecting people. Technology has allowed us to scale that connection faster and broader than we could have ever thought.” Said Jeron Christensen, Nu Skin VP of Strategy and CX Operations for the Americas Region. “Integrating our business with social platforms has allowed us to reach, interact, connect and share our amazing products and opportunities at scales that we have never experienced. Second, technology has allowed us to simplify pain points and provide those using our platforms with enhanced experiences. Finally, technology has helped us get to know our Brand Affiliates and Customers better. We get real-time feedback. We know their likes and dislikes. We hear where improvements need to be made. This data allows us to better provide for needs and provide overall better customer experiences.”

Christensen continued, “Nu Skin has provided tools and platforms that meet our Brand Affiliates where they are at and where they are already messaging and communicating with businesses, business partners, teams, and customers. Nu Skin has provided tools that allow our Brand Affiliates to interact and meet with customers via mobile platforms, allowing them to work their businesses from where ever they are at. Other companies can take note that Nu Skin is leading the way in the mobile-first business.”

There’s no question that technology has changed the way we do business. Forget traditional boundaries. Now it’s all about optimizing technology to do what we’ve always done—but much more effectively. The world’s digital transformation is so explosive that “half the world's population is online, a third is is on a social network, 53% are mobile, and they span all ages, races, geographies, and attitudes across the planet.” With billions of everyday daily online connections among people, businesses, devices, data, and processes, it’s essential to embrace flexibility at every level.

Additionally, customers want anywhere access to content and services. “Customers are beginning to judge the quality of products and services they receive not only against other companies in the same sector but also against the best customer service they have experienced in any industry.” Digitalization has led to customers demanding personalized brand interactions that are seamless, quick, user-friendly, and clear to them.

Surviving in today’s digital world requires transformation—and it’s endless. Understanding market needs and your brand are crucial in this fluid environment. “Brands are at the heart of today’s successful businesses. They provide the focus that enables organizations to achieve anything, including transformation.” When you have a clear definition of your brand and how to leverage it, you’ll thrive even in constantly altering times.
